Drake has faced numerous criticisms after he released his surprise seventh studio album "Honestly Nevermind," and it seems like the controversy is far from over after an artist claimed that she wasn't properly credited for one of the songs.

According to Urban Islandz, Baltimore-based artist, Rye Rye found out that the rapper sampled her music in the track "Currents."

Although it was a massive win for the dance club industry and the singer herself, Rye Rye alleges that she didn't get proper credit.

Taking to her official Twitter account, the artist was initially excited about the release and appeared to be over the moon after announcing that the Canadian star sampled one of her tracks.

"I ain't been able to hold my s*** together all morning knowing that I'm sampled on @Drake 'Currents' song I knew my 'what' was legendary in the club world but damn this crazzyyyyy," she wrote.

She later clarified that she didn't give the rapper's team permission to sample her song and won't be credited. However, her team is working on it.

"Vocal been spending the block for over a decade & im glad my city & sound made such big influence," she added.

The issue spread like wildfire on Twitter as many fans were outraged to know that the Baltimore-based star wasn't asked for permission and never received any credit.

She later said this kind of situation happens more often, and fans don't know whose voice it is used in different songs.

"I usually don't fuss on the internet but ima stand my ground cause ppl acting weird because I feel & others feel I deserve my credit on a Drake record for vocals of mine that was used..why is this even a issue if it was your voice you would want the same," she added.

Rye Rye's vocals were used in the song "Currents." The singer can be heard saying "what," which was intentionally added.

The rapper's producer Gordo confirmed the news in a tweet as he grew up in Maryland.

The "Never Will Be Mine" hitmaker then responded, saying she could've gotten her credit on the song, but the album is "dope."

Drake's new album faced a lot of criticism over the past few days as many were shocked that he ditched his usual R&B/pop style.
