Jen Majura, the former guitarist of Evanescence, spoke about her devastating status after the firing.

Evanescence officially let go of its guitarist last month after performing with her since 2015. The news shocked fans - and even Majura, who initially thought it was a prank.

In a new interview with Coffee With Ola, the former Evanescence guitarist said she thought that her firing was a joke. She then took her time to reveal what truly happened when she was forced to leave the band.

According to Majura, she was cleaning her apartment on the day of the axing. She received a call and asked if it was a "bad joke."

"After I got the news I hung up and I have this hallway in between my studio and my living room and I just laid there on the floor staring at the ceiling wondering what that was and...Literally looking over to my suitcase that I have already started packing because I was two weeks from going out on the road until pretty much the end of the year," she said, as quoted by Loudwire.

The channel's host Ola Englund then asked her how she felt after leaving the band, to which the musician disclosed that she is still in a "blurry, oblivious momentum."

Although a month has already passed, Majura admitted that she is still in shock, as if she had been married for six years and then got a divorce suddenly.

Jen Majura on Seeing the Brighter Side of Her Departure

Despite feeling down, Majura assured the viewers that she always tries to find the positive part in every situation in her life.

Although she knows she is not doing great yet, she reportedly tells herself that she is "actually good" in all little things.

After the firing, she purportedly received big offers from other bands. But currently, she told herself it was not the right time to consider them yet.

"[I] "lost a little bit of my music inside of me during these past years because, what I right now do, what I right now want to do is I wanna reconnect with myself. And feel, and hear, and play my music again," she went on.

Her interview came a month after Evanescence announced Majura's "departure" from the group. The band told its former guitarist that it would always love and support her.
