Lil Tjay Shooter Arrested: REAL Reason Behind Deathly Shooting is Just THIS?

Earlier today, rapper Lil Tjay was embroiled in a violent encounter - leaving him critically wounded and rushed into the hospital.

The rapper was reportedly shot multiple times in New Jersey in the wee hours of the night yesterday with a then-unknown shooter.

Recently, the shooter responsible for Tjay's critical gunshot wounds is now with the authorities.

Lil Tjay Shot, Suspect Arrested

Lil Tjay almost died last night after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds from the now identified suspect, Mohamed Konate.

Authorities have finally arrested Konate, a 27-year-old New York resident responsible for Lil Tjay's multiple gunshot wounds.

A statement from the Edgewater, New Jersey Police Department shed light on the actual happenings that transpired on the crime scene.

"Just after midnight, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the Edgewater Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of 14 The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ." the press release reads.

Antone Boyd, who was also found on the scene, sustained only a single gunshot wound, while Lil Tjay, formally known as Tione Merritt, was shot multiple times.

Konate was arrested and is facing multiple charges. Merritt's two accompanying friends, Antone Boyd and Jeffrey Valdez, were also now with authorities following the shooting on second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Lil Tjay Shooting REAL Reason Revealed

The Edgewater Police Department noted that the encounter that transpired in The Promenade in Edgewater, New Jersey was a botched robbery attempt that turned bloody on rapper Lil Tjay.

The rapper, who had undergone massive emergency surgery, was on the receiving end of multiple gunshot wounds from Mohamed Konate, a New York resident.

Konate was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including three counts of first-degree attempted murder, three counts of first-degree armed robbery, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree certain persons not to possess a firearm, and fourth-degree aggravated assault.

Although the Edgewater Police Department responded to the call, it was the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office that handled the investigation of the case. The suspect is now awaiting extradition from New Jersey under the direction of the New York Police Department.

As for Lil Tjay, updates on his surgery remain unavailable as of this writing as his extent of injuries was not also clear.
