Michael Jackson seemingly knew he was about to die in 2009 so he decided to give fans a lasting gift.

In 2009, MJ was tragically found unconscious at his home in Holmby Hills. His doctors pronounced him dead hours later at the young age of 50.

As he was still striving to become the best artist in the world, he seemingly felt that he only had one chance to do so before his death. As a result, he launched his "This Is It" and practiced all day and all night long.

The King of Pop was supposed to perform for 50 nights from July 2009 to March 2010. However, he no longer got the chance to perform again.

The "This Is IT" tour's vocal director Dorian Holley recalled the time he saw MJ rehearsing his performance on Jun. 23, 2009. At that time, he reportedly noticed something different about the singer.

"[Jackson] was just glowing, and you could see it, that he was finally seeing it all come together. Up until [the day before his death], it had always been [just a concept], but that last day you could see it in him, that he was seeing the show finally come together for the first time. It was a big moment," he said, as quoted by Express UK.

He added that MJ wanted to put a spotlight on his backup dancers, as well. But everyone just could not take their eyes off of him.

For the last time, he kept everyone's jaws open despite the fact that he was suffering because of his performances. He used to say that the events made him sore, and the drugs - including barbiturates and propofol - helped him cope with the stress.

Unfortunately, those also led to his death.

Michael Jackson's Death Happened

A few days after his rehearsal, MJ was found dead in his LA home. Responders attempted several resuscitations as they rushed him to the hospital.

But one hour after arriving at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, the King of Pop took his last breath and died.

Los Angeles County Coroner initially reported that he suffered cardiac arrest, but the investigators later concluded it to be a homicide.

His physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to four years in prison.

His bodyguard, Matt Fides, said that MJ knew something was about to happen to him and that the singer begged him to guard him in Los Angeles.
