Lil Tjay's fans immediately dismissed the rumors surrounding the rapper's condition.
The hip-hop community was left devastated again after Lil Tjay became the latest victim of a shooting incident. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office released a press statement confirming that the rapper sustained multiple gunshot wounds after the shooting incident earlier this month.
Due to a lack of updates regarding Lil Tjay, several rumors surfaced - but fans immediately dismissed them.
For what it's worth, news websites Sandra Rose and Ratchet Friday Media shared articles claiming Lil Tjay's brain death. Meanwhile, several users on Twitter also started spreading reports about the rapper being paralyzed after sustaining injuries.
Others also claimed that he already died in the hospital.
The rumors came out all at once after a news outlet disclosed an update about his scheduled CAT scan and other tests.
As Lil Tjay's family or representatives are yet to release an official statement about his real status, his colleagues and fans came together to put out the fire and debunk the claims.
On Twitter, the hashtag #WakeUpLilTjay dominated the platform as the public started praying for the rapper and his fast recovery. They urged everyone to wait for the official news from his family and friends instead.
"Trigger warning: death. Absolutely sick of seeing rumours flying round about Lil Tjay being dead if he was then we would know about it from the OFFICIAL NEWS and his friends and his family!! Please don't believe rumours guys!! All we know is he's still alive and unconscious," one said.
The Latest Update About Lil Tjay's Condition
The results of the CAT scan and other tests are not yet available to the public.
However, the outlet that shared the update said that the rapper had not woken up yet and moved no body parts except his legs. It was also disclosed that his condition had already stabilized.
On Wednesday, NBC News received a report from the officials saying that the critically injured victim was already stable - referring to Lil Tjay.
Meanwhile, the other victim, Antoine Boyd, also sustained gunshot wounds but had non-life-threatening injuries. He was also in good condition already.
"Just after midnight, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the Edgewater Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in 14 The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ. Upon their arrival to the area, officers found 21-year-old Tione 'Lil TJay' Merritt with multiple gunshot wounds and Antoine Boyd with a single gunshot wound," the official report said.
