Travis Barker was rushed to the hospital last Tuesday for unknown reasons, worrying fans of the Blink-182 drummer along the way.
While Travis Barker's real cause of hospitalization was not revealed at the time, some believe that it was connected to his existing medical condition called "suicide disease."
However, it seemed like the emergency episode was far from what fans thought it to be, as sources close to the family have reported.
Travis Barker's REAL Cause of Hospitalization Revealed
Travis Barker, Blink-182's drummer, was rushed to the hospital last Tuesday.
Admitted initially at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center but was eventually driven to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Images have trended all over social media showing the drummer's inked hand being held by his most-recent wife, Kourtney Kardashian, while being wheeled in from an ambulance to Cedars-Sinai.
Context about Travis Barker's hospitalization was blurry at the time. The 46-year-old drummer only posted a cryptic and vague tweet, prompting his fans to worry.
Shortly, his daughter Alabama Barker asked for prayers on her Instagram account and uploaded a now-deleted TikTok with the caption "Please say a prayer," with a photo of her holding Travis' hand while he lay in a hospital bed.
Now, more details about his recent hospitalization have emerged.
Sources close to the family have confirmed that the real cause of Travis Barker's hospitalization was pancreatitis, triggered by a recent colonoscopy.
A colonoscopy is an internal exam used to look for changes - such as swollen, irritated tissues, polyps, or cancer - in the large intestine and rectum. (via The Mayo Clinic)
Travis Barker's pancreas inflammation caused nausea, intense stomach pain, and vomiting, which prompted the hospitalization. Fortunately, there is a low risk of the condition going fatal as it was only triggered recently.
However, it was not determined when Travis had the colonoscopy and when he was experiencing the symptoms.
Travis Barker's Medical Condition History
Until more details have emerged, reports say that it was a completely different disease that caused Travis Barker's hospitalization.
Apparently, the Blink-182 drummer was suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia, a condition wherein he experiences a jolt of excruciating pain just by brushing his teeth or putting makeup on.
To treat this disease, Travis Barker uses a form of cannabis called Cannabidiol, a substance without tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive element in marijuana.
He was also hospitalized in 2018 for blood clots and suffered from staph infection and cellulitis. But before that, Travis Barker also suffered from an almost fatal plane crash in 2008.
