Beyoncé connected her album to her fans by revealing the real meaning behind it and its album cover.

After a long wait, Queen B will finally release her seventh studio album, "Renaissance," on July 29. But before giving it to her fans, she disclosed the touching meaning behind the album and what inspired her to create the project.

On Instagram, the "Crazy in Love" hitmaker unveiled the cover art and explained the album and cover's meaning.

The cover art in question shows her wearing a jaw-dropping diamond harness while she sits atop a silver holographic horse.

"Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking," she said.

The 40-year-old singer added that she made the album while enjoying the journey of exploration. In the end, she expressed her hopes that fans would find joy in her music and inspire them in their lives.

"Renaissance" will feature 16 tracks, and it will serve as her first solo album in six years. It followed her previous projects: "Dangerously in Love," "B'Day," "I Am... Sasha Fierce," "4," "Beyoncé," and "Lemonade."

Before its arrival, Queen B already dropped its first single, "Break My Soul," which samples Robin S's 1993 hit "Show Me Love" and Big Freedia's "Explode."

Beyoncé Hinted at Renaissance Idea in One of Her Interviews

Before the release of the new album, she sat down for an interview with Harper's Bazaar in September 2021 and mentioned "renaissance" while touching upon her new music.

"With all the isolation and injustice over the past year [from COVID-19], I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible," she said.

Beyoncé added that she had been spending her time in the studio for a year and a half as she usually spends a year before finally finding the right sounds for her new album. In fact, one chorus can reportedly have over 200 stacked harmonies.

Although it always takes her a long time to create music, she noted that working on a project feels as exciting as it did when she started her career.
