Why Don't We shocked its fans with its recent announcement - but it promised to be back soon.
Fans had been waiting to see Why Don't We in its highly-anticipated The Good Times Only Tour. However, the band recently canceled it and sparked split buzzes.
But fans do not need to worry, though.
On its Instagram page, Why Don't We divulged that it is only going to be on a hiatus amid its legal battle against the band's former management company, Signature Entertainment.
It told its fans on Wednesday that their love and support would help the five members - Daniel Seavey, Zach Herron, Jack Avery, Jonah Marais, and Corbyn Besson - win the legal issue.
"All we ever want to do in our careers is make great music and perform for all you lovely people. In light of this announcement, Why Don't We is officially going on hiatus," it announced.
Why Don't We also offered refunds to fans which they could process them at the point of purchase.
Although fans ultimately support them, others also could not hide their fears that the band might soon disband and never return.
One commented a lyric from Taylor Swift's "Exile" and wrote, "'i think i've seen this film before, and i didnt like the ending' :(."
What Is Happening Between Why Don't We and Signature Entertainment?
In September, Why Don't We accused its former manager David Loeffler of abusing the members mentally, emotionally, and financially.
"He would not only live with us during the day but controlled us 24/7, setting an alarm that would go off if any door or window was opened. We were not given the security code to the alarm, essentially making us hostages in our own home," the band said.
The members also alleged that they were malnourished enough to develop eating disorders. They were also forced to "sneak food in" and hide it in their dresser to quench their hunger.
Now, the band is set to attend a hearing with the California Labor Commission in pursuit of completely cutting its ties with its former label.
Why Don't We was formed in 2016 but waited for two years to debut with "8 Letters."
