Fans are over the moon after The 1975 released a new song after two years! However, avid listeners should be wary that the English band's latest single sounds significantly different from their previous releases.

According to iHeart, the BRIT Award-winning group released their song "Part Of The Band" after months of teasing fans by plastering mysterious posters around England and removing all their social media content online.

The band experimented with a completely different sound in their recent song by using heavy orchestral notes combined with the folk genre.

Hints of a saxophone can also be heard towards the end of the song, similar to their previous releases like "Sincerity Is Scary" and many more.

The single was accompanied by a black and white music video showing the band playing and singing in an open field with other musicians playing violins, cellos, saxophones, and more.

The recent release comes a day after The 1975 finally revealed the official release date of their highly-anticipated album "Being Funny In A Foreign Language.

The LP will be available for streaming on October 14 via Dirty Hit, their record label.

The band's upcoming release is a follow-up to their hit 2020 album "Notes On A Conditional Form."

The official tracklist of their long-awaited album is listed below:

  1. The 1975
  2. Happiness
  3. Looking For Somebody (To Love)
  4. Part Of The Band
  5. Oh Caroline
  6. I'm In Love With You
  7. Wintering
  8. Human Too
  9. About You
  10. When We Are Together

As of this writing, the band has not hinted when they'll release the second single from the album.

The new album is considered their shortest project so far as they are known to release lengthy tracklists in the past, like 2018's "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships," which had 15 songs, while "Notes On A Conditional Form" with 22 original tracks.

In addition to a new LP, the band has finally announced their on-stage comeback by performing at Summer Sonic 2022 in Japan next month.

Their last performance was in Dublin in March 2020.

According to NME, The 1975 will perform at the Zozomarine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo on August 20 before headlining at Maishima Sonic Park in Osaka the next day.

Aside from the group, Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, St. Vincent, and The Libertines will also headline the event.
