Harry Styles is not just inspiring with his songs, but with his fashion too. And fans are not just low-key imitating what he wears - which cannot be done in a subtle matter anyway, but making sure they are showing off their outfit ideas loud and proud in his concerts and in their social media accounts.
It has become quite the norm to see fans wearing feathers and sequins during his concerts, which is quite revolutionary. If not at the actual event, these outrageous outfits can be seen on social media as fans make sure to share what Harry Styles inpired them to wear. The more flambouyant the better.
#HSLOTOUTFIT Samples
Fans have been posting their clothing ideas on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok with the hashtag #HSLOTOutfit since September, when Styles' Love On Tour began across the Atlantic. Now that the European leg is in full swing, the trend has intensified, with the hashtag receiving more than 200 million views on TikTok. There is no sign of this trend stopping soon.
For a two-hour event, months of planning and countless evenings spent gluing rhinestones to Lycra flares may seem meaningless to some. But for Harries (the moniker given to Styles' followers), preparing for one of his gigs is a source of true delight and friendship. They no longer have to wait for Coachella to dress up like gypsies, after all.
For many fans now of the artist, attending a concert is a comparable and typically all-day ordeal. With many Styles fans camping overnight outside venues to get the best possible view, effectively creating their own festival-like experience, dressing up adds an extra bit of excitement and distracts from the fact that they've pitched their tents on the concrete pavements of sports stadiums rather than the grassy fields of Glastonbury or Coachella.
Harry Styles Helped Fan Come Out
Concerts by Harry Styles are certainly entertaining and unpredictable to attend. In addition to the concertgoers' attire, one may observe activities such as a performer assisting a fan to "come out." Two weeks ago, Harry Styles made a humorously poignant gesture of LGBTQ visibility by assisting a young Italian admirer in coming out as gay.
During his Sunday performance at Wembley Stadium in London, the Grammy-winning artist observed an audience member holding a banner that read, "From Ono to Wembley: Help me come out." Styles, who has been an ardent supporter of LGBTQ rights, was delighted to comply. Social media footage of the concert shows the pop artist picking up a rainbow flag from the front of the stage.
As shown in the video, he told the fan, "When this flag goes over your head, you are officially gay, my boy" His band started a drumroll while Styles teased briefly about lifting the flag. When he eventually does so, the crowd roared.
