Rapper Gunna has yet again appealed for bond release, but recent reports indicate that he has miserably failed again to secure release.

The reason why he was again declined for the second time around for bond release is simple - the judge felt the same way he did last time.

Gunna and Young Thug were among the many rappers involved in a sweeping indictment of alleged YSL gang members in Atlanta last May.

Gunna Denied Bond for the Second Time

More commonly known as Gunna, Sergio Kitchens has been recently denied of bond release again for the second time.

The rapper was initially denied of such release in May, with the judge noting that his release would endanger the lives of witnesses as he might be involved with tampering and intimidation once released behind bars.

Kitchens appeared virtually in court for the next hearing of his bond release.

11Alive reported that Gunna remains in jail for the foreseeable future until the scheduled trial date. The DS4Ever hitmaker's trial is pegged to take place in early January 2023.

According to the Judge, Gunna still poses a threat to the witnesses of the cases, echoing his initial reasons why he denied the bond the first time around.

Gunna, Young Thug Still in Jail

Both Gunna and Young Thug were the faces of the massive 56-count indictment against the latter's label, YSL Records, and by extension, the alleged Atlanta gang of the same name, YSL (Young Slime Life).

The two were arrested on the indictment alleging that the two of them, including more associates and rappers, have conspired to violate Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Authorities have claimed that YSL is a "criminal street gang" and have pointed to its associates' lyrics and social media posts as alleged "acts in furtherance of the conspiracy." (via NME)

The debate on using artists' lyrics as a ground for prosecution has been a touchy topic for quite some time already - experts saying that this is unprecedented racism among black drill rappers in general who focuses on writing about their lifestyles.

In his birthday letter last month, Gunna pointed out how his art was viewed as unfair and as an element for his imminent prosecution, even alluding to the presence of racial discrimination undertones in his two-page letter.
