Dee Snider dropped a new hint that he would be retiring soon years after Twisted Sister's decision to end its career as a band.
Twisted Sister bombarded its fans with sad news in 2015 as it announced its disbandment following A.J Pero's death due to an apparent heart attack. It did not reveal the reason behind its retirement, but it happened after Mike Portnoy.
But this year, Snider has been dropping hints he would also call it a career, soon.
On his Twitter account, the former Twisted Sister lead singer answered one fan's statement that they did not blame him for not doing stadium tours anymore. Per the rocker, he would soon retire and already planned out the things he would do soon.
"God bless them all! I can only do what's right for me. And for my retirement I'm writing screenplays, directing a movie, releasing my first fiction novel, producing two animated series, etc. etc. etc. My wife laughs when I tell her I'm retiring!" he said, as quoted by Loudwire.
In another tweet, he supported his retirement statement, telling another fan that he does not see himself recording anymore.
If he pushed through with his plans, it would follow Twisted Singer's tragic end in November 2016 after its final concert in Monterrey.
A year later, Snider told SiriusXM Volume Show, "Trunk Nation," the reason why they decided to end everything after the anniversary tour.
"Basically, the level of intensity that I performed at with Twisted Sister, I had to stop while I could still deliver that before I could no longer deliver that. The headbanging, the thrashing, all that energy... Where Alice [Cooper] always seemed like a crotchety old dude, and he's crawling around the stage, that works great for a 72-year-old dude now," he continuously said.
Not Dee Snider's 1st Retirement Hint
Although Snider's retirement plans no longer surprise fans, it was not actually the first time he "prepared" everyone for his last music project.
Earlier this year, a fan asked him whether he would tour in Springfield, Illinois. At that time, he also proclaimed he would never do tours anymore.
"Charlie, I am Dee Downer tonight. No, I don't tour anymore. I don't even think I'll do any more shows. I'm focusing on writing, directing, and producing. Sorry man," he said.
Snider also dismissed the claims about Twisted Sister's potential comeback, explaining that they agreed not to become those bands that say goodbye but return afterward.
