Eminem is undoubtedly one of the most iconic musicians in the hip-hop industry because of his impact on pop culture and lyricism. Today, the rap legend has announced that he will be releasing a new compilation album packed with classics and a few songs that fans haven't heard before.
According to 102.7 KIIS FM, the "Rap God" hitmaker will be releasing his next LP titled "Curtain Call 2," the second installment of his "greatest hits" compilation album.
The lead single will be his collaboration song with Snoop Dog titled "From The D 2 The LBC" and his track with CeeLo Green "The King & I" which was first featured in the movie "Elvis."
In addition, the record will have a previously unreleased song, but the rapper has yet to announce the official title.
The album will feature some of his biggest previous releases from albums like "Relapse." "Recovery," "Kamikaze," "Music to Be Murdered By," and "Marshall Mathers LP 2."
His first compilation record "Curtain Call: The Hits" was released in 2005.
Per a press release posted on his official website, the greatest hits collection will be released under Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment adn Interscope Records.
For fans who wish to collect limited-edition merchandise from the rapper, he will be releasing a box set and a limited quantity of autographed vinyl available on his website.
A standard release will also be available.
"Curtain Call 2" will be available for streaming and purchase starting August 5.
According to Hip Hop DX, Slim Shady has released over 11 solo albums throughout his career, 12 if "Music To Be Murdered: Side B" is included.
The rapper maintained his legendary status because of his fans as his albums sell millions of copies worldwide.
The outlet noted that his 2020 album "Music To Be Murdered" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and it sold 279,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week.
In total, the rapper has sold 220 million records worldwide. He consistently dominate the charts with 10 albums that went number one, making him the first artist in history to achieve this milestone.
The latest announcement comes a few months after he performed at this year's Super Bowl halftime show along with hip hop legends like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent.
