Lil Tjay's fans remain worried about the rapper's status due to his absence from the scheduled Wireless Festival.

The public's eyes lit up when Lil Tjay's name appeared on the lineup of the Wireless Festival in Birmingham for its July 9 event.

The "In My Head" rapper joined Cardi B, Chris Brown, Burna Boy, Central Cee, City Girls, Lil Baby, Mahalia, Arrdee, B Young, Comfy, Crystal Millz, JBee, Mowgs, and Steel Banglez on the list.

Expectedly, fans expressed their excitement as it would mark his first concert since the shooting incident happened. They were also hopeful that his appearance would finally dismiss the rumors that he's died or that he is already paralyzed.

However, it turned out that he missed the event.

On Twitter, fans shared mixed reactions due to Lil Tjay's absence - some were concerned while others felt furious due to Wireless' "scam."

One fan said, "@WirelessFest u owe us many special guests with all these artists dropping out first doja cat and gunna, now lil tjay, burna boy and steel banglez. if drake doesn't come out this weekend then no matter the lineup it's a disappointment."

Meanwhile, other supporters noted that they had not seen any updates on Lil Tjay except when news outlets reported that he was awake and talking.

Amid the worries, they consoled each other and assumed that the rapper probably missed the concert as he continues to recover in the hospital.

Latest Update on Lil Tjay

Lil Tjay's absence was expected, though, as he suffered multiple gunshot wounds after the 27-year-old suspect Mohamed Konate attempted to rob him and two other men.

"Just after midnight, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the Edgewater Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in 14 The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ. Upon their arrival to the area, officers found 21-year-old Tione 'Lil TJay' Merritt with multiple gunshot wounds and Antoine Boyd with a single gunshot wound," the official report said.

He reportedly underwent surgery and had been in stable condition. Still, a news outlet recently released an update about Lil Tjay's status, saying that the rapper would undergo a CAT scan.

At that time, it was divulged that he had not woken up yet and was not able to move his body parts except his legs.

His uncle, Quinn Smith, revealed a few days later that Lil Tjay was "pulling through" and would "be okay."

The most recent update about him came out last month when a news site said that the rapper was awake and alert.
