Britney Spears had to be rescued by police in the middle of the night. Apparently, she's not in a legal trouble in any way, but simply ran out of gas.
Police responded to her after the singer ran out of petrol in the middle of a busy Los Angeles freeway.
Approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, law enforcement received a call regarding a white Mercedes blocking the third southbound freeway lane. The newlywed celebrity, age 40, was seated in the back seat of a passerby's car when authorities arrived.
She reported to officers that she ran out of petrol while traveling, causing her vehicle to halt in the middle of the interstate.
Britney's Mercedes was driven to the side of the road and pushed to safety while the California Highway Patrol sought to halt traffic. The cops apparently waited with Britney until her husband Sam Asghari arrived to bring her up. Britney was grateful for the support.
This has not happened to the Toxic singer for the first time. In 2006, she was driving her then-husband Kevin Federline's Ferrari along the Pacific Coast Highway near her Malibu home with her elder brother Bryan Spears in the passenger seat. The car "suddenly seized and came to a stop in the center of rushing traffic," and the photographers who were following her assisted in pushing the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway.

Britney has recently been in the news because she published a lengthy open letter on social media criticizing the documentaries made about her conservatorship.
The singer has been the focus of many documentaries over the past few years, including "Framing Britney Spears" on Hulu and "Britney vs. Spears" on Netflix. Britney criticized the producers on her Instagram account for using her and stated that this would never happen to another celebrity.
In her post, Britney wrote angrily, "I feel like America has done a wonderful job at humiliating me. I've never felt more bullied in my life in this country it's insane... and come on seriously is it honestly legal to do that many documentaries about someone without their blessing at all??! Seriously though, think about it... I've never seen that many documentaries done on a person."
She added that it is incredulous how much negative footage was dug up about her to create specials claiming it's all about helping her. "It was the most insulting thing I ever saw in my life," she added.
The post however has been deleted.
