Taylor Swift is one of the biggest musicians of this generation, and with her undeniable writing skills - anything she just puts her name on instantly adds a touch of glitz to it.

And the latest work that Swift used her Midas hands with is the Olivia Newman-directed film "Where The Crawdads Sing."

Taylor Swift's newest song, "Carolina," made a debut last month as it will be used on the flick's official soundtrack.

In a new interview, Newman revealed some interesting tidbits as to how Swift got her name on the movie.

Speaking to Newsweek recently, "Where The Crawdads Sing" director Olivia Newman opened up how the GRAMMY-winning singer made her way to the Delia Owen book turned movie.

"When she found out that Reese [Witherspoon] was producing a movie, she raised her hand and said, 'I'd really love to write a song,'" Newman confessed.

Apparently, Taylor Swift volunteered her musical expertise for the material. Newman also said that the "You Belong With Me" hitmaker wrote the song even before the team jumped into production.

"It's hard to know exactly what song will be the perfect fit for it, but obviously, when I heard the song for the first time, I had an initial response to it, which was the same feeling when I finished the book," the director confirmed.

Last March 2022, when "Where The Crawdads Sing's" trailer finally arrived online - everyone was taken aback to hear Taylor Swift's haunting vocals on the Daisy Edgar Jones-starred film.

According to Swift, at the time, since she wanted to be on the musical side of the film, she wrote "Carolina" alone and asked Aaron Dessner to produce the haunting track.

Like Swifties worldwide, "Carolina" played on director Olivia Newman's "rent-free." Per the director, the song was stuck in her head the whole time they were filming the movie.

"It was done in reverse order than it usually is but because her music was just so honest, it was just such a perfect fit."

"Where The Crawdads Sing" is released today in the United States. Rotten Tomatoes graded the flick 5/10, noting that the film is "ultimately unable to distill its source material into a tonally coherent drama."
