Last Jul. 8, 2022, he is set to open his highly-anticipated "After Hours Til Dawn" World Tour in his hometown, Toronto, Canada.
However, because of a nationwide power outage in Canada caused by its main telco provider, Rogers, the sold-out show was canceled.
With the unexpected news hitting online, a six-year-old Abel Tesfaye fan made rounds on social media after someone snapped his emotions upon hearing the cancelation.
The Weeknd Fan Flown To Philadelphia After Viral Moment
Dressed as The Weeknd in his famous "Blinding Lights" music video, six-year-old Phoenix Prince was seen crying and consoled outside the venue after learning that the Toronto show was canceled.
The cute moment went viral in a matter of hours and even reached Abel himself. Eventually, the singer let Twitter do its thing and asked his 16.4 million followers on the app to connect him to the kid.
CBC got a hold on Phoenix Prince. In an interview, his father explained what happened in the now-viral moment.
"Phoenix was getting attention with his suit. We had a breakdown moment. He got upset over the fact the show was postponed, and somebody captured a picture," Blake Prince, Phoenix's father, said.
After trending online, Blake and Phoenix received a massive outpour of love from fans and Abel himself.
Eventually, The Weeknd had Phoenix and his dad, Blake, flown to Philadelphia to finally meet him.
To make the encounter even more special, they were invited as special guests on the show, even exclusive backstage access.
In new photos posted on Instagram, Phoenix posed with Abel, with the latter even signing his iconic red suit.

Earlier this May, Doja Cat was supposed to headline The Weeknd on the "After Hours Til Dawn" World Tour 2022. However, the "Woman" hitmaker pulled out since she would be undergoing a massive tonsil surgery.
Eventually, The Weeknd revealed that Snoh Aalegra, Kaytranada, and Mike Dean would be accompanying him for the rest of the tour on select dates.
The Weeknd is set to perform at the MetLife Stadium in New York tonight.
