Chris Brown is now in hot water after someone sued him after canceling a benefit concert performance in Houston, Texas.

Based on the complaint, the singer refused to refund payments made to him despite not fulfilling his end of the agreement.

This is not the first time Brown was hit with backlash in the past week - whether it is because of his music or recent behavior.

Chris Brown Sued After Non-Refunding of Payments

Chris Brown was hit with a million-dollar lawsuit for allegedly refusing to refund the payments made to his account for the supposed benefit concert last March 2022.

Speaking at a press conference recently, the owner of DML Real Estate Investors and Construction, LeJuan Bailey, elaborated on how she decided to pursue legal action against Chris Brown.

Apparently, Bailey's company booked the R&B singer to perform in their "One Night Only Benefit Concert" to raise money for Hurricane Ida and Nicholas survivors in Houston and Louisiana.

Brown canceled the performance, despite being paid already - including talent fees, accommodations, and even private plane requests. The payment made to the singer amounted to $1.1 million.

The "Superhuman" hitmaker acknowledged the receipt of payment but eventually refused to refund her after his no-show.

Because of the singer's alleged refusal, Bailey's company was hit with issues from their sponsors and ticket holders - claiming that Chris Brown's team ignored their attempts and repeated communication to resolve the situation.

"At this point, it is my humble belief that Chris Brown's actions are parallel to pure theft. He has the unmitigated gall to take my money, stand up the residents of Houston, then return to the city to perform on August 17, 2022. My message to Chris Brown: We will not sit back and allow you to disrespect the victims of Hurricane Ida and Nicholas in need," Bailey sternly announced.

Chris Brown Net Worth 2022

Per Celebrity Net Worth, Chris Brown's current fortune is only $50 million - relatively small considering his huge name in the business.

Earlier this month, the 33-year-old singer was fuming after his comeback album, "Breezy," was met with a lukewarm response.

Debuting only at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 charts, the album only opened to 72,000 album equivalent units - small compared to his former albums, which charted higher.

Aside from his discography, few concerts, and touring, Chris Brown only has his Burger King restaurants he reportedly owns and an Interscope Records sub-label Chris Brown Entertainment he founded in 2007.
