Lil Tjay has been accused of killing someone while he takes his time to recover after the shooting incident.
The public has not heard about Lil Tjay's current status for weeks after a news site said that the rapper was awake and alert. His absence at the Wireless Festival in Birmingham for its July 9 event also caused fans to assume that he is yet to be discharged from the hospital and might still be recovering.
Amid the lack of updates, a new allegation against the rapper came out and accused him of killing someone.
On Reddit, a screenshot from his "F.N" music video was shared. The user asked whether Lil Tjay truly shot and killed someone, making the story of the song's music video true.
The YouTube user, named Jim Jim, wrote, "The story is lilt jay killed someone and his homie snitched on the whole gang, when the snitch was getting ready for a date lilt jays homie shot the snitch, later tjay and the gang got released since there was no witness."
One Reddit user said that some people in the comments section said that the story is real. However, the rapper's fans defended him and said that the comment only narrated what happened in the music video.
"Tjay went to jail for armed robberies and things of that nature for like 2 or 3 separate bids. Obvious cap," one said.
Another wrote, "No lmao Tjay was never like that he was more of a runner than a killer."
Lil Tjay Was The Victim
Far from what happened in the music video, the rapper was actually the one who got shot after the 27-year-old suspect Mohamed Konate attempted to rob him and two other men.
Lil Tjay suffered multiple gunshot wounds after the incident and received surgery to stabilize his condition.
"Just after midnight, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the Edgewater Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in 14 The Promenade in Edgewater, NJ. Upon their arrival to the area, officers found 21-year-old Tione 'Lil TJay' Merritt with multiple gunshot wounds and Antoine Boyd with a single gunshot wound," the official report said.
His representatives did not offer a regular update. But his uncle, Quinn Smith, revealed a few days later that Lil Tjay was "pulling through" and would "be okay" after rumors about his brain death, paralysis, and death emerged.
