Since last year's tragic Astroworld Festival crush, festival organizers have been shunning away from recruiting Travis Scott as their headliners.

After Kanye West pulled the plug on his supposed Rolling Loud Miami 2022 performance, hip-hop fans quickly turned to Travis Scott as the best alternative to fill the spot in.

However, Rolling Loud execs opted for Kid Cudi after shutting down fan suggestions to get the "Sicko Mode" rapper instead.

Rolling Loud Miami 2022 Lineup Update

Earlier this week, Kanye West canceled his upcoming performance at the Rolling Loud Miami 2022.

Without further elaborating why Rolling Loud announced that Ye "has decided that he will no longer be performing."

In lieu of the "DONDA" rapper's exit from the lineup, he was eventually replaced by Kid Cudi, with who the latter shares a now souring friendship with the rap mogul.

Kid Cudi is now taking over the first day of Rolling Loud Miami 2022 on Friday, Jul. 22, 2022, while Future takes the Saturday spot, and Kendrick Lamar closes the three-day festivities on Sunday, Jul. 24, 2022.

After the shocking announcement, Rolling Loud exec Tariq Cherif was spotted on Instagram, shutting down fan comments asking Travis Scott to be the Kanye replacement.

Rolling Loud Festival Banned Travis Scott?

According to Rolling Stone, earlier this week, Rolling Loud Festival executive Tariq Cherif was seen responding to fan comments asking Travis Scott to replace Kanye instead of Kid Cudi.

Cherif's response, however, caught the attention of more fans online.

In one of the comments, he stated that the venue, Hard Rock Stadium, would not allow Travis Scott because of the Astroworld Festival deaths.

The comment sparked debate online over the alleged blacklisting of Travis Scott on Rolling Loud festivals.

In a new statement, Tarif clarified the festival's stance about Travis Scott's inclusion on the lineup.

"We reached out to Travis to headline Rolling Loud, but it couldn't work in such a short time. This had nothing to do with any restrictions from the hosting venue Hard Rock Stadium," the statement reads.

Travis Scott's Tragic Astroworld Festival Crush

Last November 2021, Travis Scott's 2021 Astroworld Festival filled in the headlines after a stampede took place that claimed the lives of 10 people, leaving hundreds injured and a million-dollar lawsuit.

But this is not the first time that Scott's performance has been riddled with controversy. In his Rolling Loud Miami 2019 performance, Scott was also sued for allegedly causing a stampede.
