Other Music Acts That Canceled Their Show Due to Health Woes
Young isn't the first artist to cancel a performance due to a health condition, as Pearl Jam was forced to postpone their concert in Austria hours before taking the stage.
In early reports, the legendary band took to their social media accounts to share a statement, saying they had to cancel their gig in Vienna due to "extreme circumstances."
Vedder's throat had given up and was left "damaged" after a combination of heat, dust, and smoke from wildfires during their show in Paris, France.
They noted that the frontman had already undergone treatment and sought a medical professional, but his vocal cords are still struggling.
"This is brutal news and horrible timing... for everyone involved... Those who work so hard to put on the shows as well as those who give their precious time and energies to attend," the statement continues.
Fans who purchased tickets will be able to refund their money from the concert.
As of this writing, Pearl Jam has not announced a rescheduled date for their Vienna, Austria, show.
