Lil Tjay's shooter, Mohamed Konate, is now facing the tragic effect of the crime he did.

Konate, an ex-con, was also left wounded after trying to rob Lil Tjay and a companion in Edgewater last month. The 27-year-old has been staying in the Bergen County jail following his extradition from New York City.

A photo of him has since gone viral after the shooting incident, and the suspect looks unwell in his mugshots. It turned out that Konate has a shattered kneecap and is currently suffering from conjunctivitis, prompting his attorney to request an initial release for medical treatment.s

But on Monday, the New Jersey Herald confirmed that a judge denied the request during a discussion in his detention hearing. During the appearance, Bergen County Jail's medical director, Dr. Michael Hemsley, also joined them to disclose that Konate needs additional medical appointments with doctors outside of the jail due to his health issues.

The affidavit of probable cause stated that he was also shot several times during the shooting incident.

Through Prosecutor Matt Fitzpatrick, the prosecutors deferred to Hemsley's professional opinion. He added that the jail would, instead, process his outside medical care. Dr. Hemsley added that Konate would need an escort of two officers to accompany him in his medical appointments and that one officer should stay at the hospital if admission would be required.

The doctor added that the jail itself would provide physical therapy.

It remains unknown who shot Konate.

What Did Mohamed Konate Do?

The suspect was accused of pulling a gun and trying to rob Lil Tjay and his friends, Antoine Boyd, 22, and Jeffrey Valdez, 24.

During the incident, Konate and someone in a car exchanged gunshots.

Lil Tjay was found at the scene outside the Chipolte restaurant and was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center. He reportedly sustained gunshot wounds in the thoracic cavity that required him to undergo emergency surgery.

Meanwhile, Boyd was taken to the hospital after making it to an Exxon station.

The investigators found out that an associate helped Konate fly the scene after the shooting. He was then dropped off at Lennox Hill Hospital on East 77th Street off Park Avenue on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

The identity of his associate was never identified. However, the authorities later arrested Konate at the hospital.
