One Direction was the most successful boyband of the 2010s, selling millions of album and performing sold-out shows throughout the world.
Former star Louis Tomlinson, on the other hand, had a lot to say about the band's debut album.
The 30-year-old singer argues that the debut One Direction album, "Up All Night," released in 2011, fell short of the four previous studio albums they released.
Despite his remarks, the record sold 4.5 million copies worldwide, becoming One Direction the first British band to achieve a number one debut album in the United States.
Tomlinson was the eldest member of the defunct band formed by "The X Factor" judges in 2010.
Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan are all 28 years old, while Zayn Malik is 29.
The Doncaster-born vocalist reminisced about the band's formation in an Australian podcast early last week. He did, however, have something unexpected to say about the band's debut record, which was released.
"The band began twelve years ago today, but the first record was s-t."
The "Back To You" hitmaker also admitted that he felt pressure as a solo artist to replicate the success of One Direction, who quickly became global sensations.
"There's still pressure obviously for me to create a strong record... and me having to find my feet coming out of a band as huge as One Direction," Louis Tomlinson, who is working on his second solo album, revealed.
But Tomlinson wasn't the only one who had something to say about One Direction's songs.
Malik, who abruptly left One Direction in 2015, stated in 2016 that the band's music was "generic as f--k," adding that "it wasn't for me."
It comes 12 years after Simon Cowell made a sly remark at Liam Payne during the creation of One Direction on "The X Factor" in never-before-seen video.
An unaired video of the show indicated that Payne was the fourth youngster introduced to the line-up, with Cowell reiterating Payne's belief that he was "better" than anybody else in the group, making him appear "arrogant."
Payne admitted to being "the honorary member" of the band on Logan Paul's podcast last month.
The footage also reveals that Horan was the first boy removed from the stack to create the band Styles, Tomlinson, Payne, and Malik with Styles, Tomlinson, Payne, and Malik.
Nicole Scherzinger, a judge at the time, stated, "They're simply too good to let go of. On stage, they have the appropriate appearance and personality."
"They're like small stars, so you can't get rid of them - you just put them all together."
