Many fans have been wanting David Crosby to perform again on a tour after all these years, but it appears that they won't see the singer traveling from city to city for concerts anymore as he clarified one major thing on his social media account.
The former Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young singer politely answered a fan question on Twitter when a user asked him about his future performances.
"Any tour dates David Crosby?" the fan wrote, seemingly clueless about the singer's situation.
Unfortunately, the "I Won't Stay For Long" hitmaker said he won't be returning to the big stage because of his age.
"I think I'm too old to tour any more ....sadly," he confirmed. (via The Independent UK)
Following his announcement, many fans have mixed reactions to the reply section with some suggesting he should have a residency.
"How about playing a residency someplace instead? Like multiple nights at the Troubador," writer Stephen Humphries wrote.
Other fans recalled their experience watching the singer perform in the past.
"Grateful that I saw you play in Austin in 2018. It was a fabulous evening of music, Croz. So thank you and I look forward to to next album release. I know already that it'll be a treasured addition to my vinyl library," another one reminisced.
David Crosby is currently 80 years old, he will be turning 81 in a few days.
According to Variety, the singer's last full show was before the pandemic when he performed at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on September 17, 2019, as an opening act for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit.
In the industry, it appears that more and more musicians are ready to leave their touring life behind because of their age as Gene Simmons also recently revealed that KISS' current tour would be his last.
Speaking to the New York Post, the 72-year-old rocker said his age is one of the reasons why he's going to stop performing as it's hard for him to keep up with the theatrics of their concerts because members often wear 40 pounds of armor and a pair of 7-inch platform dragon heels.
"I can't sit in a chair picking a guitar like blues musicians. I know you can't stay on the stage too long. Better get off while the getting's good," he added.
