By the end of the year, Keith Richards thinks The Rolling Stones will have recorded new music. The thing is, in his opinion, he is unclear where the band is going in terms of form. But then, it's not the first time that they just whing it after they have finished recording.
The 78-year-old musician claimed that he and his colleagues, Sir Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood, are working on new material, but he added that he has no idea how it will be distributed.
In an interview with Matt Wilkinson for the 'The Rolling Stones: 60th Anniversary Special' podcast on Apple Music 1, the crooner said, "I couldn't say what form things are going to come out. I hope that we'll have recorded some stuff by the end of the year, and then, I mean, what do we do, stream it? I don't know. Anyway, I just make records and then we figure out how they come out, right? That's what I do."
Keith has previously stated that touring drummer Steve Jordan would be enlisted to help the band complete their next record after the passing of veteran drummer Charlie Watts in August of last year.
Additionally, he claimed that Charlie endorsed Steve prior to his passing. Keith stated that the band still has a lot of Charlie Watts material in the bag. He shared that when Watts died, they were in the middle of recording a new album.

"We do have a lot of stuff of Charlie Watts still in the can. We were half-way through making an album when he died," he said. "Of course, if we want to carry on recording, we're gonna need drums, and it's gonna be Steve Jordan," he added.
Watts' death occurs some weeks after the drummer's inability to participate on the Rolling Stones' "No Filter" stadium tour of the United States was revealed.
According to a spokesperson, the drummer has undergone a good treatment, but his physicians concluded that he needs sufficient rest and recuperation. But everyone was shocked that he passed away shortly. At the time. rehearsals were already scheduled to begin in a couple of weeks.
