Ozzy Osbourne's smiley-face tattoos on his knees have a heartbreaking story which his childhood friend recently revealed.
Fans of Osbourne also grew fond of his tattoos which are mostly inked on his arms and chest. But two of them - two smiley faces on his knees - actually have a saddening history.
Osbourne's childhood friend, Ash Alison, recently sat for an interview with Birmingham Mail and revealed that he was the one who did the tattoos.
Per the 69-year-old local man, rumors that Osbourne did the work while he was serving his jail time were not true.
"I did the two smiley faces on his knees. It didn't happen in prison. I did those in my mother's house. We did all these silly kinds of tattoos. We didn't have computer games and mobiles back then. It was our enjoyment," he said.
Ultimate Classic Rock & Culture quoted Osbourne's previous statement about the tattoos during his appearance on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien." At that time, he said that he suffered loneliness, and those two smiley faces made him pretend they were alive and ready to talk to him.
The singer has been open about his mental health struggles while dealing with physical issues.
Previously, Osbourne sat for an interview with Billy Morrison on Sirius XM and detailed how having someone near is important.
"We are all in the sh*thole right now. We are all in an environment that we don't wanna be in. When I'm in a room in my head on my own, it's a bad f*cking place. 'Cause my head never tells me anything f*cking good," he said.

Aside from Osbourne's tattoos, Alison also disclosed that the rocker once dated his sister and became a member of his older brother's band.
He noted that Sharon Osbourne's husband had many friends and was closed to their family.

The childhood friend also expressed the excitement he felt soon after seeing Black Sabbath's TV debut in "Top of the Pops" in 1970.
"To see somebody that you had been hanging with for three of four years suddenly on Top of the Pops, we were chuffed," he said. "When we came out after watching it, Geezer Butler was standing outside his house, leaning up against the wall hoping that somebody would recognize him off the telly."
Although Osbourne is a famous singer now, Alison said that he never changed at all and that he even reconnected with his family members a few years ago.
