Porno for Pyros Replaces Jane's Addiction at Several Festivals
Porno for Pyros have dominated several festivals and guest appearances this year after Jane's Addiction pulled out from their scheduled sets.
The latter band had to cancel their performances as Dave Navarro is still experiencing "long-haul COVID symptoms."
This led the other band to reunite again and perform after more than a decade. Their last performance was in April 2009 and prior to that, they hadn't played together since 1998.
Their reunion performance took place at this year's Rockville festival and they have been performing again since then.
At the time of their first show, Porno for Pyros was not complete as drummer Stephen Perkins wasn't present because of his illness. Fortunately for the group, drum tech Mike Gryciuk stepped in and played the drums for the show.
According to Consequence Heavy, their most recent appearance was at the Lollapalooza festival. They performed at Chicago's Metro last July 30 as part of the event's "Aftershows" series.
In addition, they took the main stage in Grant Park the following day before Green Day began their headlining act.
In other updates about Jane Addiction's Navarro, he previously opened up that he has been sick since late last year and he "supposedly will be back" to his old self in time.
Despite their previous cancelations, their appearances at The Smashing Pumpkin's "Rock Invasion 2 Tour" is still scheduled to run starting this fall.
Their two bands' first show will be at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, on October 2.
