Kanye West has lately faced backlash after it was discovered that his new Yeezy Gap apparel line was displayed in garbage bags.

Despite the fact that the in-store displays have been accessible to see in person at Gap locations for a month now, some are criticizing the award-winning rapper for making elements from the creative excursion shoppable from huge bags at select Gap shops.

However, the designer magnate defends and emphasizes his creative independence in an interview with Fox News.

In the same interview, he stressed that the bags are not "garbage bags," as some had suggested.

"I'm an inventor, and I'm not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas," Kanye stated in an interview with "Fox and Friends" on Thursday.

"That's precisely what the media attempts to do," he remarked. Make us apologize for any concept that isn't precisely how they want us to think."

The father-of-four later stated that his work is "not a joke" and resisted those who may try to group him in with the typical celebrity-focused endorsement strategy.

"This is not a game," Kanye West remarked. "This is more than just a celebrity collaboration. You know what I mean?"

He also stated that he wished to break established fashion traditions by selling his garments in construction bags. However, social media users chastised the "Donda" rapper, feeling that the spoof rubbish bags mocked homeless people and the less fortunate.

"This is my life. I'm fighting for a position to be able to change clothing and bring the best design to the people."
