Britney Spears is finally releasing music since the end of her conservatorship, and she's decided to do it with a bang- with Elton John no less.

An ecstatic Elton John released the cover art for "Hold Me Closer," the remake of his iconic bop "Tiny Dancer," a song he's decided to remake with the special help of Britney Spears.

The highly anticipated collaboration, circulating through the internet for weeks now, is slated to be released on the 26th of August.

The cover art features pictures of young Spears, donning a pink-feathered costume and John playing the piano. Included in the tweet is a more recent picture of the two smiling for the camera.

Spears' Back

After 14 years of being allegedly held back and dictated by her conservatorship, Spears is releasing new music-on her own terms. "Hold Me Closer" marks Spears' first musical release since being freed from the conservatorship.

At the height of her career in 2008, Spears was placed under a conservatorship established by her father, James "Jamie" Spears in 2008.

According to reports, Spears lost control to handle her own finances or personal affairs until November 2021, a few weeks before her 40th birthday.

The world watched as this happened. Celebrities and artists showed their support by using the #FreeBritney hashtag on social media.

According to The Sun, a source close to Spears revealed that the singer is doing better, "Britney is in the best place she has been for a long time, but constant rumors and conspiracy theories around her need to stop."

"It can get like a pressure cooker at times, but the bottom line is she is great and is finally in control of her life."

Spears really, it seems, is in a better place. She recently released a video of herself dancing to "Feel It Still" by The Man.

Fans were celebrated, commenting, "She's back," "Girl, you look amazing," and how much they've missed seeing her dance.

Elton John's Been Pretty Busy

Prior to his collaboration with Spears for "Hold Me Closer," John has been collaborating with other artists. In 2021, he released an album with over 20 collaborations.

Here are a few of John's collaborative hits: "Cold Heart" with Dua Lipa, "Always Love You" with Nicki MInaj, "Shine From Above" with Lady Gaga, "Tiny Dancer" with Miley Cyrus, "After All" with Charlie Puth, and more.

Aside from releasing remakes with artists, the 71-year-old singer launched his world tour in March.
