FN Meka recently signed a deal with Capitol Records and it seems like not everyone isn't fond of him joining the music scene as seen on posts circulating all over social media.

According to Uproxx, hip-hop fans are expressing their concerns and issues with the rapper signing with the record giant as he is a product of artificial intelligence.

The musician rose to fame on social media as he has over a billion views and 10 million followers on TikTok

Initially, he independently produced songs like "Moonwalkin" and "Speed Demon" which became popular hits on the platform.

To celebrate his new contract with Capitol Records, which makes him join the roster of artists like Halsey, Johnny Depp, Jennifer Lopez, Lil Baby, Katy Perry, and more, he released a collaborative song with Clix and Gunna titled "Florida Water."

Produced by DJ Holiday and Turbo, the rapper also announced that he will promote the song in Apple Music using a commercial.

Speaking to Music Business Worldwide, Capitol Records' Ryan Ruden said the rapper "meets at the intersection of music, technology and gaming culture." (via Hip Hop DX)

The Executive Vice President of Experiential Marketing and Business Development added that the recent label signing is just a "preview" of future projects.

"This latest project with FN Meka and Clix, while a first of its kind, is only an evolution of Capitol Records 80-year history of innovation," he added.

Anthony Martini, the co-founder of Meka's first virtual record label Factory New also issued a statement, saying the rapper's vocals are derived from a human voice, but they're working on technology that would produce music completely from artificial intelligence.

Twitterverse Isn't Happy With FN Meka's Major Record Deal

Many hip-hop fans immediately expressed their disappointment over FN Meka's record deal with Capitol Records, saying that music giants should hire and sign actual artists who are working hard in the industry.

"Don't normalize this cause wtf and why yall really want androids just out here DO YALL NOT LEARN FROM IROBOT," one fan wrote.

"Basically a big middle finger to all musicians but especially (human) rappers," another one wrote.

"Just gave a deal to a robot when there's 1000 of actual humans that deserve it," one expressed.

As of this writing, neither Capitol Records nor FN Meka's team has addressed the backlash.
