Britney Spears and Sir Elton John have collaborated for the first time. It's a massive project, since not only does it signify two titans working together, it is also Spears' newest project since being released from her conservatorship. Fans have been clamoring for new songs from the pop legend for a very long time now. Granted that "Tiny Dancer" is not an OG song by the popstar, fans are still very, very excited.
When news broke out of the collaboration, fans were naturally excited. But none was the wiser what kind of song will be dropped.
Now one of them is prepared to provide a preview of what fans can expect. After confirming the collaboration's release date on August 19, John released a little clip of "Hold Me Closer," his song with Spears.
In a 14-second TikTok clip, Spears' and John's voices can be heard singing the lyrics and melody of John's 1971 song "Tiny Dancer."

The soundtrack, however, has been updated with a little clapping pop beat, supported by high-octave synths and a rhythmic guitar, all leading up to a drop until the clip ends, abruptly (since it's just a teaser!)
According to Billboard, the style will be familiar to anyone who listened to the radio in 2021 or listened to Elton John rather.

The new footage seems to fit in with John's 2021 release "Cold Heart" with Dua Lipa and PNAU, in which John interpolated the chorus of his 1972 single "Rocket Man" and a few lesser-known tracks throughout.
Last year, Sir Elton scored his biggest hit in decades by collaborating with Dua Lipa on "Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)," which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 36 weeks at the top of the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
It was announced days before that "Hold Me Closer" would release on Friday, August 26.
Britney Spears recently unveiled the new cover art for this collaboration as well. The 40-year-old singer uploaded a photo of herself and Elton dressed in glittering blue and white baseball jerseys for the album's new cover.
