The Struts' Luke Spiller named the best rock song he ever heard in his life.
Before the current rock bands came to the spotlight, rockers who debuted decades ago continue to make buzzes due to their songs.
Spiller, although he is part of the rock band The Struts, chose a song from a different band as the best track for him.
Speaking during his appearance on Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez, the lead vocalist, praised Queen's hit song "Bohemian Rhapsody" as the best rock song and explained why he chose it.
According to the frontman, he would not classify the track as a rock and roll song. Still, he revealed that it has everything rock should be.
"If planet Earth was to be represented by one song in like, a galactic, Eurovision-esque song contest, we would all put forward 'Bohemian Rhapsody' because it shows the absolute best qualities of music," he said, as quoted by Loudwire.
Spiller said that "Bohemian Rhapsody" has amazing lyrics and musicality. It also combined ballad and rock elements to produce the "best guitar work" he ever heard.
The song's notable arrangement also caught his heart.
Although he knows that the song will also be another's answer, the singer said that he, himself, cannot think of another song to fit the question.
Luke Spiller Is a Queen Fan
Although his answer was quite surprising, his choice was actually expected since he has been publicly talking about his love for Queen.
At times, fans compared him to the late frontman Freddie Mercury since The Struts debut. Being compared to other musicians can be painful to some, but Spiller felt nothing but honored with that comparison.
Aside from "Bohemian Rhapsody," Spiller also picked his other favorite Queen songs.
In his article for Classic Rock, he selected 10 tracks made by Mercury and Co. and shared why he picked them. The songs that made it to the list include "Breakthru," "It's A Hard Life," "Bring Back Leroy Brown," "You Take My Breath Away," "Love of My Life," "We Will Rock You (Fast Version)," "Seaside Rendezvous," "The Millionaire Waltz," "March of the Black Queen," and "Nevermore."
The latter, per Spiller, is his funeral song.
Despite Mercury and John Deacon's deaths, Queen continues to play on stages with its surviving members, Brian May and Roger Taylor.
