British rapper MIA is dropping her new album, "Mata," soon, but it seems like she herself could not wait anymore longer to release it.
In her latest update, MIA shared interesting new details about the album's featured artists and a sneak peek of her songs in a recently-posted teaser.
MIA's "Mata" is her sixth studio album to date and is a follow-up to her critically-acclaimed five studio albums that came before.
MIA New Album 'Mata' Release Date Unconfirmed?
MIA's New Album' Mata's' release date has not yet been confirmed.
In a colorful Instagram story that MIA posted on her account, she promised that the album will be "coming soon." Along with the teaser is a video snippet of what seemed to be her new music in the coming album.
What struck fans the most were the mentions of the two most influential rappers in the mainstream music scene - Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj.
Based on MIA's Instagram story, she revealed that she had to wait two years for Doja Cat to give her verse (possibly in a song) and also a Nicki Minaj one. Although she did not confirm if Doja, Nicki, and her, would be appearing on the same track, the likelihood of these chances is quite good based on MIA's statements.
While "Mata's" release date is nowhere to be seen yet, MIA said that if the album would still not be released in September 2022, she would leak it herself.

Over to Twitter, she released a similar teaser, which fans of the British rapper have been raving about.
"MATA is the most anticipated studio album of 2022. No [cap]. World Town is ready. LFG," a fan claimed.
"THE FACT THAT IT'S AN INDONESIAN FOLK SONG & DANCE SAMPLED THERE CAN'T BE MORE EXCITED," another fan commented.
According to NME, if "Mata" arrived in September, it would mark the longest time the rapper had in between the release of her albums.
"AIM," the fifth album, was released in 2016, which makes the gap seven years apart. "Matangi" landed in 2013, while "Maya" dropped in 2010. Before that, "Kala," the sophomore album, was released in 2007, while "Arula" made its debut in 2005.
