Jayden Federline, Britney Spears' youngest son, opened up about his mother during an interview for an upcoming documentary about the Federline family.
Spears has two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden Federline, 15; and according to the Daily Mail, Jayden opened up about his relationship with the "Baby One More Time" singer.
"'I 100% think this can be fixed. It's just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again," he said.
He directly talked to their mother saying, "'I love you a lot, I hope for the best for you. Maybe one day we can sit down like this and talk again."
In June 2022, Spears tied the knot with Sam Asghari, and the absence of her sons was noted by the press and public.
Federline discussed his absence from his mother's wedding, adding that only he and his brother were invited to the wedding and he "don't see how that situation would have ended on good terms."
"At the time it just wasn't a good time to go. I'm not saying that I'm not happy for her," he said.
It was alleged that Spears' sons refused to attend her wedding because of her social media posts.
Hoever, he addressed this by saying that he understands her means of coping through social media, "social media helps her... So if that's what she wants to do, that's what she wants to do. I'm not going to hate her for that."
He emphasized that he does not harbor any hatred toward his mother, however, he added that it would take some time and effort before their relationship would get better.
Federline reportedly shared in the documentary that he and his brother had gone through a lot of pressure in the past, and added that they are in a better place now.
"This is our safe place now, to process all the emotional trauma we've been through to heal, heal our mental state," he said.
Fractured Relationship
Spears broke her Instagram hiatus to respond to her sons. She penned an open letter, stating "I've tried my best at being the best person I can be...to be basically held hostage in homes under nurses and bulls**t,"
"I hope my kids one day understand my reasoning of my play in water revealing myself as any woman would being held under blankets and supervision under the conservatorship."
She is referring to her conservatorship, which lasted 13 years. Spears spoke out about the conservatorship, noting that she was not allowed to do certain things without permission.
"Finally at 40 without the restraints of what my family did to me... I say to my son Jayden that I send all the love in the world to you every day for the rest of my life."
Spears added, "It deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn't up to his expectations of a mother."
As of this writing, there is no word on Federline's reply to Spears' open letter.
