Adele is one award away from achieving EGOT status!
Thanks to "Adele: One Night Only," the British songstress now belongs to the list of artists who are waiting for the remaining entertainment award to be included on the coveted EGOT roster.
With the current trajectory of Adele's career - the next award is something that she has not yet delved into yet but the likelihood of her getting it might be very likely.
Adele Wins Emmy for 'Adele: One Night Only' TV Special
'Adele: One Night Only' is one of the most awarded shows in the recently concluded 74th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Taking home 5 Emmy statuettes, the TV special was tied with "The Beatles: Get Back, "The White Lotus," "Stranger Things," and "Euphoria."
Adele won Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for "Adele: One Night Only," while the show itself won all its nominations for
Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Lighting Design / Lighting Direction for a Variety Special, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, and Video Control for a Special.
In a recent Instagram post, Adele thanked Fulwell 73 CEO Ben Winston who produced the show, the Television Academy, the Griffith Observatory for the venue, and her fellow nominees.
The star-studded show has beaten the "One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga," "Dave Chapelle: The Closer," "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts," and "Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special."
Could Adele Achieve EGOT Status?
Adele is not short for a GRAMMY win with her 15 gramophones and counting. Last 2013, she already clinched an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Skyfall."
Now, with her huge Emmy win, Adele is only short of a Tony Award.
While her current career seems to be far from musical theatre, Adele getting a Tony might be easier than ever.
In the case of Jennifer Hudson, the latest artist who had been included on the accomplished roster, she won her Tony Award only recently but not as a performer.
Hudson was a producer of the Tony-winning musical "A Strange Loop" along with other industry giants like RuPaul and Mindy Kaling, among many others.
Should Adele choose to have her music turned into a musical, produce a musical to some degree, or even star in a Broadway production or a play, she could finally reach EGOT status, which with her impact and influence could be a shoo-in.
