Harry Styles, undoubtedly, is currently the most successful and popular former member of One Direction.
The rise of One Direction changed the music industry, but the group ended its stint in 2016 despite continuous success. Among the five members, Styles has been making the most noise as he has been scoring project after project in the past years.
He has been popular and successful enough that he felt overwhelmed soon after beating One Direction's fame.
Express UK recently quoted Styles' interview with Rolling Stone. Styles recalled his performance at Long Island's UBS Arena and said that he did not expect how his songs "Kiwi" and "As It Was" would cause explosive energy in the crowd.
"After One Direction, I didn't expect to ever experience anything new. I kind of felt like, 'All right, I've seen how crazy it can get.' And I think there was something about it where I was ... not terrified, but I just needed a minute. Because I wasn't sure what it was. Just that the energy felt insane," he said.
The news outlet, however, noted that Styles probably have a bigger reaction if One Direction reunited again.
Is One Direction Reunion Happening?
In the past years since the band's disbandment, fans have been wanting to see the five members reunite and perform together again.
The rumors emerged more in 2020 when fans noticed that the boy band's website was updated alongside the text "2020 Sony Music Entertainment." This caused the Directioners to visit the members' Instagram pages to ask them to gather again for a reunion performance.
However, seeing the five members at that time was highly unlikely due to Louis Tomlinson's beef with Zayn Malik.
In an interview with Metro, Tomlinson said he felt betrayed by everything that Malik did against the group after leaving them. He added that the former One Direction member failed to professionally handle the situation.
For what it's worth, Malik left the group in 2015 due to stress. He revealed that he wanted to relax and enjoy his private time without the spotlight.
In addition, the two members exchanged scathing comments in the past years. After releasing his track, "Good Years," Tomlinson called him a hypocrite. They continuously exchanged tweets thereafter, and Malik dissed the group seven times at that time.
It remains unknown whether the reunion would still happen in the future.
