Ozzy Osbourne Collab With Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi IMPOSSIBLE — Here's Why

Ozzy Osbourne just could not imagine having an album with his former Black Sabbath bandmate, Tony Iommi.

Osbourne and Iommi put an end to their fans' waiting game when they played together again during the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, last month. This granted the public's wish to see them in one stage again although Geezer Butler missed it.

They also worked together on Osbourne's upcoming album, "Patient Number 9," as Iommi recorded guitar parts for its two songs.

The reunion and collaboration, once again, sparked a potential collaboration between the two Black Sabbath members - something Sharon Osbourne's husband does not approve of it.

In a new interview with Kerrang!, Osbourne said that he doubts having an album with Iommi.

"If Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi do an album together, it's going to sound like a Sabbath album. Tony was the sound of the Sabbath. There's no getting away from the fact that, when he plays with me, it'll be some kind of a reflection of that. Maybe the tracks he did on my album was like what Sabbath should have been had we stayed together," he said, as quoted by Ultimate Classic Rock.

Osbourne remains open to making an album, but they need to meet his demands including not turning it into another Black Sabbath album.

He added that he never thought of having Iommi become part of his records despite singing in his 2002 album.

It turned out that producer Andrew Watt was the one who suggested it, but Osbourne just does not like the idea at all.

Ozzy Osbourne's Health Status

Aside from his recent music gigs, Osbourne also talked about his health recently.

On Wednesday, he and his wife, Sharon, sat down for an interview on "Good Morning America" and shared his recovery after going through major surgery.

According to Sharon, her husband was in "agonizing pain" before the surgery. She recalled seeing him cry for days as the debris rubbed his spinal cord. The rocker assured everyone that he already recovered quite considerably but still faces mobility issues.

Osbourne has to improve more ahead of his first US performance in two years. He is set to perform on the first day of the NFL on Thursday. It will mark his first performance since the 2019 American Music Awards.
