The jewelry and other valuables stolen from the rapper PnB Rock, who was fatally shot on Monday at Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles in South Los Angeles, may contain the key to identifying the assailant.
Items stolen during the audacious robbery have been reported to pawn shops by Los Angeles Police Department officers in the aim of identifying the murderer.
LAPD Chief Michel Moore stated that PnB Rock was tragically shot by a man who demanded jewelry and other items before engaging the rapper in a fight and shooting fire.
Moore stated that the attack occurred shortly after the rapper was identified online as being at the eatery near the intersection of West Manchester Avenue and South Main Street on Monday, and police are investigating whether this was the cause. According to the police, social media-related crimes are uncommon.
However, Moore expressed alarm about the increase of firearms on the streets, which are utilized by thieves who target victims for expensive jewels. The 30-year-old Rock, whose real name is Rakim Allen, was in the restaurant with his girlfriend, who shared a since-deleted Instagram photo with location markers.
The incident has sparked discussion about the perils of celebrities blogging about their locations and fancy products on social media in real time.

Fans and community activists reacted with grief and fury, stating that violence at a popular eatery is unacceptable. "I want the community to be healthy. There needs to be a broader strategy to make it clear that taking a physical item like an expensive watch is worth no more than a life," said Skip Townsend, a longtime Los Angeles gang interventionist.
The shooter could have murdered as many people in the noon crowd, he noted. "This happened while he was actually eating and it's really tragic," Townsend said. "Arrests do not stop the violence. Arrests don't close families. We need to have a long-term strategy that prevents anyone from contemplating such actions."
The song "Low Down" by Andre Christian, a gang interventionist with the Urban Peace Institute, stated that he and others were attempting to dispel rumors surrounding the incident on Monday.
He stated that he would not be shocked if Rock had attracted negative attention via social media. However, it is also possible that someone noticed him entering Roscoe's and decided to rob him.
Christian stated that the murder serves as a lesson that "people must be careful of their surroundings."
