Sheryl Lee Ralph has been making waves after her big Emmy win for "Abbott Elementary" at the recently-concluded 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. She won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of Barbara Howard on the first season of "Abbott Elementary."
Although the series was relatively new on television, Sheryl Lee Ralph was not as she had originated one of the most iconic roles in Broadway's "Dreamgirls." Along with Jennifer Holliday and Loretta Devine, Sheryl Lee Ralph played Deena Jones, which was eventually played by Beyonce in the 2006 film adaptation of the same musical.
Ralph's monumental win in Emmy's supporting actress category was widely celebrated in the music and the Black community.
Very recently, Sheryl Lee Ralph received a huge bouquet from someone she did not anticipate at all.
Sheryl Lee Ralph Receives Flowers From Beyonce
In an Instagram video posted by Sheryl Lee Ralph recently, she was seen reading a card laced on a big bouquet of what seemed to be a white and yellow bouquet.
As she opened the card, it was revealed that it came from Queen B herself, Beyonce. (via Billboard)
Visibly taken aback by the gift that she received, Ralph was at a loss for words as to whom had sent the flowers.
"To the original Dreamgirl, Sending you a beautiful congratulations. All my love, Beyonce," the card reads while Ralph was heard shrieking in joy in the background.
While taking it all in, Beyonce's 2006 version of the song "Dreamgirls" plays in the background. Ralph, making out words while voiceless at the time, described the flowers to be "beautiful" and thanked the popstar for the gift.

In 2005, it was revealed that Beyonce "lobbied" to be cast as Deena Jones, the role that Lee Ralph originated on Broadway. Although the intention then was to get relatively unknown artists for the three main parts, Beyonce successfully snagged the role.
Thanks to the role, Beyonce, together with other songwriters, penned the now-classic song "Listen" for her character's new song in the film.
Ralph, on the other hand, was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical and a Drama Desk for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for the role.
Meanwhile, recent EGOT awardee Jennifer Hudson who played Effie White in the 2006 film, also sent Ralph a congratulatory bouquet following her huge win.
