Mariah Carey has multiple upcoming projects, including a themed album. In talking about this exciting new project, the singer said that her blessed voice is back. She revealed that her voice has actually become hoarse through the years, but the damage done to it is kind of reversed because of the COVID-19, which forced many artists to rest.
The "Hero" hitmaker has stated that she has been working on a great deal of music, including brand new songs for a "scripted series or documentary.
On the podcast "Rolling Stone Music Now," she revealed that there are three or four separate things that she has planned down the road. One is an almost completed project on which she was doing background vocal adjustments.
Anoother consists of (new) music that could be used for a scripted series or a documentary.
Lastly, there is also a themed CD. She revealed that her fans have been requesting that she does this for years, but it's not done in the usual sense. She said that while it is in the works, it's farm from completion. As early as now, she shared that she's already extremely thrilled about it. She also revealed that collaborating (on this album) with a number of newer, extremely eclectic artists as well as some iconic musicians.
The 53-year-old pop icon also acknowledged that resting her voice during the COVID-19 pandemic was beneficial, since it had become "damaged" and "hoarse"
She explained, "travelling and getting hoarse and doing this and doing that did damage my voice for a minute. She added, "But having that moment to kind of get it back to a place where I felt really good about it was its own gift. I mean, none of us were thrilled to be dealing with Covid, but that did give me a chance to get back into the studio and just strictly focus on music."
The Grammy-winning artist celebrated the 25th anniversary of her iconic 1997 album 'Butterfly' last week. In her Butterfly Lounge studios, she has been working on new records.
She also discussed her forthcoming children's book. The forthcoming children's book by Carey, The Christmas Princess, will have depth, she assures. She explained that the characters are deep and there are a lot of undertones. She said those who will purchase it can have their money's worth. She believe that the parents or grandparents who purchase this for their children or grandchildren will appreciate it. She added that it's a form of tribute to her own childhood.
