Lil Baby declared that he will be unable to attend the Vancouver Music Festival.
On Sunday, it erupted into a riot, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in property damage.
The night's headliner, Lil Baby, was unable to perform due to sickness, according to organizers.
Breakout Fest, a hip-hop music festival hosted over the weekend at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) grounds, claimed that the rapper was "too unwell" to take the stage around 9:30 PM, just 30 minutes before the show's scheduled closing time.
People were seen smashing tents, hurling garbage cans, and crowding the venue's beer garden after the news.
Others toppled refrigerators and shattered concession stands.
The police were able to apprehend seven persons for violating the event's peace.
"Fans converted their disappointment into rage, causing severe damage to the PNE Amphitheatre and areas of Hastings Park," according to a PNE representative.

What Was Lil Baby Up To Before Bailing on Breakout Fest?
Lil Baby said that tour weariness caused his body to "shut down," forcing him to miss the Breakout Fest.
He said in an Instagram post, "I have been going so hard these past few months without any breaks that it finally caught up with me."
Though it's true that he just ended a major tour with Chris Brown, the video and photos shown by TMZ made it appear as if there were other considerations at play.
However, new photos acquired by TMZ suggest he was feeling well enough for the Las Vegas nightlife scene only hours before taking the stage in Vancouver.
The rapper was photographed inside Zouk Nightclub, as Canelo Alvarez celebrated his win against Gennady Golovkin.
Lil Baby was seen in the midst of it all, as were other superstars such as Travis Scott and DJ Drama.
The notorious rapper was rhyming along to 42 Dugg's "We Paid" verses.
According to TMZ, the event occurred at 3 a.m. on Sunday, and Lil Baby was still singing and feeling wonderful.
According to the publication, Lil Baby's security tried to prevent fans from filming him as he exited the nightclub with a towel over his head.
This was just hours before he was supposed to headline the event, but he didn't show up. As a result, a melee broke out at the event.
Fans who paid for tickets were outraged when Lil Baby never appeared on stage.
