Marilyn Manson was accused of sexual abuse by Evan Rachel Wood who came forward in February 2021, which ensued a 19-month investigation into the singer.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, they have completed the investigation and have turned it over to the Los Angeles District Attorney's office for review, reports say.

In a statement the DA's office shared with Pitchfork, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department provided them with partial case material pertaining to the sexual abuse allegations against the singer.

"There is more material that is still outstanding, however, we do not have a timeline for the additional submission from the LASD. Once we receive everything, experienced prosecutors will carefully and deliberatively review everything that has been submitted prior to making a filing decision."

Manson, born Brian Warner, could potentially escape the charges if the DA's case against him is not airtight, thus the DA's office sees the need to carefully collect all pieces of evidence.

According to BuzzFeed News, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Mason's legal camp are yet to comment on the matters.

Allegations

Since Wood came forward in February 2021, several other women have also stepped forward with their allegations of abuse against the singer. Wood and Manson had a relationship when they were 18 and 36, respectively, and they were also briefly engaged in 2010, Billboard reported.

The actress spoke out on the alleged abuse via Instagram on Feb. 1, 2021: "I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent." The post has since been taken down.

Following the bombshell statement from the actress, Manson issued his statement which read: "Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality."

"My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how and why others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth."

Wood's mother also came forward, sharing the alleged abuse her daughter had to endure with Manson. "He studied how to manipulate people. He groomed her. He's a predator," she said in "Phoenix Rising," Wood's documentary.

Following Wood's accusation came the "Game of Thrones" actress Esme Bianco, who also had a run-in with the 53-year-old singer.

In May 2021, Bianco filed a suit against Manson, claiming that he had sexually, physically, and emotionally abused her, The Guardian reported.

Since then, more women have come forward with their allegations against Manson, including models Sarah McNeilly and Ashley Lindsay, via their Instagram accounts.
