Earlier this year, the cast of "Don't Worry Darling" has taken over entertainment headlines after issues surrounding Florence Pugh, director Olivia Wilde, and Harry Styles emerged, among many others.
One that has taken social media by storm is the allegations that Harry Styles spitted on his fellow actor Chris Pine as the former One Direction star sits beside him during the premiere.
The internet, turn whether he actually did or not, unofficially called it - "Spitgate," an ode to the infamous Watergate Scandal of 1972.
Now, director Olivia Wilde finally cleared the air if Harry Styles actually spat on Chris Pine on their film's premiere in an interview on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

According to Olivia Wilde, "Spitgate" was a perfect example of human nature wherein people would instantaneously look for drama anywhere they can.
"Harry did not spit on Chris, in fact," Wilde, in laughs, told late-night show host Stephen Colbert, while the latter jokingly stands on his statements that he actually thinks he did.
During the premiere night, a video of Harry Styles and Chris Pine made waves online. He was seen crouching down as he sit on his chair, nudging his mouth towards the direction of Pine's lap, while the latter seemed to have been interrupted while clapping.
The internet has been on a huge debate about whether Styles had actually spit on Pine. However, another angle of the scene has shown that no spit happened - as it was only a bad case of coincidence and wrong angle.

"There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist," Harry Styles' rep confirmed.
Elsewhere in the interview, Wilde has also stamped down another glaring controversy around the "Don't Worry Darling" movie - Shia LaBeouf's alleged firing on the film. The director clarified to Colbert that since LaBeouf gave her an ultimatum to do his own way or he quits.
