Noah Cyrus enlisted the help of her father Billy Ray Cyrus for the duet version of "Noah (Stand Still)." An emotional lyric video of the duet was released on Sept. 23.

"Noah (Stand Still)" is the opening track of the 22-year-old's debut studio album "The Hardest Part," released on Sept. 16.

The lyrics video shows a picture of the father and daughter walking hand-in-hand, their backs turned to the camera. It starts off with Noah's original verses from "Noah (Stand Still)," and is later followed by Billy Ray's verses.

The song was written about her father, giving her the advice to stand still. "And my father told me / Noah when you don't know where you're going / just stand still /soon enough you will."

It was only fitting that the older Cyrus adds his lines to the highly emotional song. "As you get older / It gets harder to change / You might find yourself alone with just your shame / But it's not over / It's all gonna be OK / And when times are tough remember what I say."

The Duet

Prior to the release of "The Hardest Part," Cyrus revealed that she struggled with her mental health and drugs. By 2020, she was at her "lowest low."

"I was choosing drugs over my family, my friendships, myself-everything," she said.

"Noah (Stand Still)" sets the tone for the rest of the album, which delved into Cyrus' mindset and journey to healing as she left behind the past.

The song also happens to be the very first duet of the father-daughter duo, reports say.

The older Cyrus showed his support by announcing the duet on his Instagram, posting the same picture that was used in the lyric video. He captioned, "So proud of [Noah Cyrus]. You wrote a great song and delivered a killer performance. Honored to join you on this poignant track. Drops at midnight EST. Check it out."

The younger Cyrus commented her thanks, "The honor is mine, Daddy! so grateful to share this track I wrote about you, pappy, and papaw Cyrus .. you're my hero and inspiration... I love [you]."

Roots

While Cyrus has only began her music career recently, her love for music stems back from her childhood days, her father recalled.

"You were a horse rider, you rode horses and that was your thing. And then all of a sudden you started making music," he said in an interview with Spotify for the "For The Record" podcast.

"[...] And you started dedicating yourself to writing the best songs you could write and being the best musician you could be."

He has always shown his support to his youngest, he recalled, '''That's my Noie! That's my Noie! Look at her! The dream is happening."

Several years later, his words ring true, as fans flocked over to see what the Cyrus family's youngest has to offer to the music industry.

The lyrics video has now garnered 18 thousand views with over 2 thousand lines, and the fans cannot get enough of the father-daughter duo.

Fans are also taking notice of Cyrus' talent for music and songwriting. "Noah is amazing. She is just 22 and her songs are legendary! Thank you, Noah," wrote a fan.

"Noah is such an underrated artist. I hope she gets all the recognition she deserves. Her song writing skills are top tier," another commented.

A fan expressed her excitement, "I have goosebumps, I love this song, it's so perfect, relatable, real, sincere, like a conversation between the two of them, You can feel the bond they have. The lyrics, the melody, and their voices everything is so beautiful, so glad I listened to this song...and will put it on replay for sure!"

As of this writing, the lyrics video has garnered over 18 thousand views and 2 thousand likes.
