This past weekend, Lil Tjay returned to live performance with an explosive set at this year's Rolling Loud New York. Friday night's (September 23) appearance at Citi Field in Queens was the New York rapper's first full performance since he was wounded seven times during an attempted robbery in June.
"Hey yo, look, I'm feeling good today," Tjay told the Rolling Loud crowd at the opening of his set. "I'm feeling blessed. Thanks to everybody that popped out here today. We going up." He then proceeded to perform his 2018 track "Leaked."
He performed a number of his most popular songs, including "Calling My Phone," "Run It Up," and "F.N."; as well as his collaborations with Polo G ("Pop Out") and the late Pop Smoke ("War," "Mood Swings").
He also performed his 2022 song "In My Head" live for the first time.
Lil Tjay collaborated with fellow Rolling Loud musician Fivio Foreign to perform their songs "Not in the Mood" and "Zoo York" somewhere during his set.
On June 22, Lil Tjay was shot seven times while sitting in his car outside a Chipotle restaurant in Edgewater, New Jersey during an attempted robbery.
The 21-year-old was reportedly unconscious for a few days and breathing through a tube after undergoing emergency surgery. He posted on social media on August 24 that despite "difficult" circumstances, he was back and "stronger than before." "Hey what's going on y'all?" Tjay, who was donning a neck brace, said in a video.
