Many fans have been waiting for Paramore to release new music over the pandemic, but they opted to take a break, which Hayley Williams considers a good thing as it helped the band grow individually. Today, the band graced supporters with a new song after years of waiting.

Speaking to Radio 1's "Future Sounds with Clara Amfo," the 33-year-old vocalist said the group needed the hiatus to find their individual identities outside of Paramore and all the projection they get from the public.

The group is now gearing up to return to performing live after four years as well as releasing a new album set to drop in February of 2023.

Looking back at their break during the pandemic, the frontwoman said it helped the band with their vision, saying, "I was glad we were home because we were part of our own community in Nashville, and we got to be a part of it as citizens, as friends, a daughter, a sister and it wasn't really about Paramore." Despite spending time with her loved ones, Williams said the pandemic took a toll on her as a performer and she considers it a "ridiculously tragic time."

When they were writing their new album, the lead vocalist said she thought about her fans, the shows that have been canceled, and more.

Hayley Williams Dating Bandmate Taylor York

After two years of speculations and romance buzz, Hayley Williams and Taylor York finally confirmed to The Guardian they're dating but refused to give more details about their connection.

The confirmation comes two years after the singer released her solo record "Petals for Armor" produced by her boyfriend.

In a previous interview with Pitchfork, she noted that the song "Crystal Clear" was about falling in love because even though she's afraid and doesn't like vulnerability, she couldn't help but to fall in love.
