So perhaps you've heard about Chris Brown's troubles stemming from an alleged July hit-and-run accident, which may result in the R&B star doing prison time for violating his probation. But don't forget about the January incident where Brown and his running crew got into it with Frank Ocean and his respective collective in a Los Angeles parking lot. It's the latter that may become more of a headache for Brown now.
Ocean's cousin, Sha'keir M. Duarte, is now bringing a lawsuit against Brown and another individual, referred to in the suit as "Hood," although that's probably not an official title. The charges include battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and conspiracy to commit battery.
According to the suit, "[Hood] lunged and struck plaintiff with a punch to his face" as Brown yelled "Get that n----r!"
Duarte states he went down, and alleges the attacker continued to kick and pummel him where he lay, including shots to the head. According to the suit, this caused Duarte "great mental, physical, and nervous pain and suffering," also stating the plaintiff was "informed and believes and thereon alleges that these injuries will result in some permanent disability to him." Duarte is seeking both general and punitive damages.
Ocean is not involved with the suit, and he seems to have gotten all the Brown out of his system with his "Versace" remix a few weeks ago. Brown recently suffered a seizure, which his representative claims a doctor blamed on undue stress from negative publicity. Might want to start generating some positive publicity then.
