On Tuesday, October 4, country icon Loretta Lynn passed away at age 90.
Eerily, just days before, news had it that the country star was already planning her own funeral.
TMZ has heard that the singer passed away at her Tennessee ranch surrounded by family and of natural causes.
According to this Radar Online's exclusive report, Lynn had made all funeral preparations prior to her passing. Last week, a family member revealed that Loretta wants to convert the majority of her physical assets into cash so she doesn't leave her children and grandchildren with the responsibility of selling her belongings when she's gone.
The insider added that the star desires to design her own memorial service so that the day goes precisely as she desires!
Lynn desired to be interred alongside her late husband Mooney and her children Jack Benny and Betty Sue at the family cemetery.
The insider noted that this is where Loretta wants her memorial service to be because she desires that all of her fans be able to come, and the property has plenty space. Loretta has already requested that her performing children and grandkids perform at her goodbye ceremony. She also desires that her lifelong friends, such as Dolly Parton, send her goodbye in style."
The country star had a history of health concerns, having suffered a stroke in 2017 and breaking her hip the following year. Prior to her death, Lynn stayed at her ranch in Nashville to be closer to "medical care."
Because of her 2017 stroke, Loretta has mobility issues and mental fog, a friend explained.
This friend however can vouch for how her lovely singing voice is intact. She is attempting to record some farewell songs that she thinks will endure for all time. She is a courageous individual. Loretta has no fear about her inevitable demise, the friend added.
The close friend even said the star is aggressively preparing for it.
The iconic singer-songwriter postponed the release of his new album, "Wouldn't It Be Great," after suffering a stroke.
She recovered, and the album was finally published in 2018, followed by "Still Woman Enough" in 2021. Loretta Lynn composed singles about contraception and divorce in a usually conservative genre.
Lynn grew up in rural Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, as she chronicled in her hallmark 1970 song, "Coal Miner's Daughter."
She married at the age of 15, and her husband Oliver "Doo" Lynn encouraged her to begin performing in clubs. She earned her first recording contract in 1960, and her track "I'm a Honky Tonk Girl" topped the charts.
