Elvis Presley had a private performance hours before his death, marking the last time he sang his songs.

On Aug. 16, 1977, Presley shocked the world when he was found dead by his then-fiancee, Ginger Alden, inside his Graceland's bathroom. He was scheduled to hold his concert in Portland, Maine, before his death, but he still got the chance to have a private performance hours before taking his last breath.

Express UK noted that the King of Rock and Roll had his last concert on Jun. 27 that year at Indianapolis' Market Square Arena where he performed his hit song, "Can't Help Falling in Love." But his cousin and member of the Memphis Mafia, Billy Smith, witnessed his final private performance when he came over to the singer's racquetball court.

He appeared in an interview on the Memphis Mafia Kid YouTube channel and recalled how Presley hurt his shin during the game. After ensuring he was okay, Elvis stood up and played the piano to have his final private concert for Smith.

For the last time, he performed "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" and "Unchained Melody," per Smith.

The songs were featured on his "From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee" and "Moody Blue" albums, respectively.

After his final performance, they headed to his Graceland mansion so he could prepare for his August 17 concert in Maine's Cumberland County Civic Center.

However, he did not know he would not make it to the concert.

Elvis Presley's Death

Doctors said Presley died of a heart attack that was likely worsened by his addiction to prescription barbiturates and the medications he took the night before his death.

It was noted that he and Alden visited his dentist, Lester Hoffman, a day before his passing due to tooth pain. He then asked his personal physician, Dr. Nichopoulos, for painkillers and received a prescription for six Dilaudid tablets.

Presley asked his stepbrother, Ricky Standly, to get them from the pharmacy at Baptist Memorial Hospital while spending some of his time playing racquetball with Smith and his wife, Jo.

When the singer was unable to sleep, he took the prescription drugs before consuming the second package of the pills the following day.

Presley took a total of three packages of pills and painkillers. When he went to the bathroom due to extreme constipation, he never came out alive.
