Britney Spears came back to the music industry after her lengthy conservatorship legal battle by being featured on Elton John's song "Hold Me Closer." Today, the pop star credits the music legend for doing a significant thing for her.
Taking to her official Instagram account, the 40-year-old singer shared a fan-made album cover of her collaboration track featuring John playing the piano as she stood on top of the instrument.
In the caption, she expressed her gratitude to the "Your Song" hitmaker for giving her "confidence" and believing in her.
"Thank you to @eltonjohn for giving me the confidence and believing in me to do such a cool song !!! Hold Me Closer went top 10 on the @billboard charts and #1 on the @itunes charts," she wrote.
According to Billboard, the dance-pop song was a combination of two previously-released projects by Elton John, the first one was "Tiny Dancer" in 1971 and "The One" in 1992.
Both songs were given a 2022 twist and featured Spears' iconic vocals. The collaboration amassed massive success as it peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The outlet noted that this is the "Til The World Ends" hitmaker's highest placement in the charts since releasing "Scream and Shout" with will.i.am.
In addition, John and Spears also achieved a big milestone as the song hit number 10 on Adult Pop Airplay and number one on Dance/Mix Show Airplay.

Britney Spears Not Performing Anymore?
Many fans may remember Britney Spears during her prime years as one of the most in-demand performers of her generation as she always played at sold-out shows.
However, last month, she revealed that she'll probably never perform in the future again due to the trauma she experienced during her time under her conservatorship.
In a previous Instagram post, the pop star said she was "pretty traumatized" from her work and could possibly not perform even though her career is starting to skyrocket again.
When she was bounded by her lengthy conservatorship, Spears said she never had any creative control over her music videos as it was overseen primarily by her dad Jamie Spears since 2008.
Britney Spears finally became free from the court order last November with the help of fans who started the #FreeBritney movement.
